Young Explorers: Elementary Science

Foundations of physical, earth and life science through guided experiments.

Young students doing a hands-on science experiment

Overview

Students build their first scientific habits: asking a question, predicting, testing, and recording what happens. Each week centers on one concept, introduced briefly and then explored through a guided experiment that every student carries out.

What students learn

  • States of matter and how materials change
  • Chemical reactions observed safely and recorded
  • Density and buoyancy: why objects float or sink
  • Simple circuits with batteries and bulbs
  • How plants move water, and how crystals form
  • Recording observations and explaining results in their own words

Instruction is hands-on with short explanations, so young students learn the vocabulary of science alongside the experiments.
